This day marks a significant milestone of my pregnancy because at 37 weeks, my baby is already considered full term. I have been worried about going into pre-term labor in the past 36 weeks and knowing that I got passed those weeks without giving birth yet is such a relief.
I know more challenges are coming as the arrival of our little princess slowly approaches. That is why I’m trying my best to prepare myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
I did a 30-minute walk and exercise this morning. I haven’t done this in the past couple of weeks as I was only advised to be on bed rest until I reach full term. It was a bit uncomfortable but I was motivated to do it because I know that it’s gonna help me especially in preparation for my labor and delivery. I’ve also been consistently eating fruits and veggies with lots of water and I believed it helped a lot in curing my constipation.
I tried monitoring my baby’s kicks three times a day – after breakfast, after lunch, and before bedtime. According to my OB, I should be able to record at least 10 kicks/movements (excluding hiccups) within 2 hours. I don’t know if my baby is just so active but I can count 10 kicks in less than an hour and I love it when I feel her moving. It’s like our bonding and playtime moments. I can’t wait to see and play with her. I feel even more excited.
I know that more than being prepared physically and emotionally, I also have to prepare myself spiritually. And I do this by praying. I always try to find time to communicate with the Lord to ask for his guidance and spiritual support.
I also pray the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary and novena to St. Gerard Majella. I only learned recently that St. Gerard Majella is a Roman Catholic saint whose intercession is sought for unborn children, childbirth, mothers, expectant mothers, and pregnancy among others. Here’s a link to the novena http://www.saintgerard.com/nineday.html and there are also other prayers which can be found on the internet.
I also had my ultrasound scan for biophysical exam this morning and according to my sonologist, everything seems normal.
